House Hold beta participation agreement

Version: beta-2026-09-25-v2

Read these terms before participating. Registration does not sign the agreement; each adult accepts separately through their verified account.

BETA PARTICIPATION TERMS 1. Who this agreement is with The operator is Dirk Schoeman, trading as House Hold. Contact beta@householdapp.co.za for beta administration and privacy requests. House Hold is the trading name; it is not described here as a registered company. 2. Participation and household scope Adults aged 18 or older may create households and accept these terms for themselves. Children participate only through a parent or legal guardian. Each adult signs through their own verified account. Their acceptance is linked to their household, but nobody signs for another adult. A parent or legal guardian may create a child profile after separately confirming their authority and consenting to the stated use of the child’s details. A guardian can create a child username and password without requiring a child email address, or approve an email-based Child invitation. Linked child accounts can access assigned tasks, chores, calendars and groceries according to household permissions. Children cannot change roles. Owners control permission to mark groceries as bought. The guardian can correct or remove the profile and withdraw consent. Consent does not remove House Hold’s responsibility to protect the information. Every participating member must understand the terms. Creating an account and household registers you directly for the beta. Signing does not begin a subscription. Each household has separate members and permissions, even when one profile belongs to several households. 3. What testing involves Use shared tasks, recurring tasks, calendars, groceries and notifications in ordinary household routines. Complete the testing checklist and report problems honestly, including your phone model and what happened. Do not include passwords, financial records, health information or other sensitive material in tasks, screenshots or feedback. The beta runs from 1 to 17 October 2026 inclusive, using South African time. Daily tasks may be completed or caught up during that period; task completions after 17 October do not qualify. The final review may be submitted through 19 October 2026. Valid Not applicable outcomes are accepted where a task genuinely does not apply. Discount eligibility requires all 17 daily tasks and the final review within their respective deadlines. Any earned discount applies to the eligible total household bill, including additional households, under the published discount offer. No positive rating, public review or app-store review is required. 4. Social participation Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are the planned sharing platforms. Make any video in your own words and describe your real experience; positive reviews are never required. Social posting is optional. Submit only links to posts you chose to make public. Do not show other people, children, addresses, private messages or household data without appropriate permission. Clearly disclose any free access or other benefit connected to a post. House Hold may review public engagement figures on submitted posts. Submitting a link does not transfer ownership or grant permission to reuse your video in advertising; reuse requires separate permission. Any required posting schedule or reward must be agreed separately before participation starts. 5. Beta limitations and ending participation Features may change, fail or be unavailable. Keep a separate copy of important information and do not rely on reminders for emergencies. House Hold may pause testing to address technical or security problems. You may withdraw from this agreement in the app or contact beta@householdapp.co.za. Withdrawal starts the retention period described below; your previous acceptance remains available during that period. No payment, automatic subscription, guaranteed discount or guaranteed launch date is created by this agreement. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. 6. Privacy and recipients House Hold uses registration details, account and household records, testing feedback and this acceptance record to operate and support the beta. Household permissions determine which members can access shared tasks, calendars, groceries, activity, chores and rewards. Child records include the name or nickname, guardian relationship, login identifiers, assigned work, approvals, points, deduction reasons and reward redemptions. A linked member profile can include optional profile information and a picture; only provide information needed for household use. Parent-created logins use an internal account address rather than a child mailbox. Child account information is excluded from public pages, referral statistics and marketing. Parents set chore values and rewards; points are not money or prizes supplied by House Hold. Connected-calendar feed links are stored for syncing; authorised household members can view imported events but not the private feed link. Authorised operational access must be limited to legitimate support, security or legal needs. Your signature record is available to you and authorised House Hold administration, not automatically to other household members. Supabase supplies account and database services; Sites/Cloudflare hosts the app; Resend delivers email. Apple and Google process data under their own terms when you use their testing services. Providers may process information outside South Africa. House Hold does not sell personal information, publish private household information or give it to advertisers. Information may be disclosed where legally required. Public social posts remain subject to the platform's own visibility rules. 7. Your choices and retention You can initiate account deletion at householdapp.co.za/account/delete or through Profile, Privacy & account. A request is reviewed and is not an immediate deletion confirmation. Contact beta@householdapp.co.za for access, correction, guardian requests or help if you cannot sign in. Requests require identity and authority verification. Shared records, household ownership and managed-child responsibilities need separate handling to protect other members. Removing a child profile is different from deleting its authentication account and all associated records. Deletion does not itself cancel a subscription. If you do not continue as a paying customer using House Hold, we delete your beta registration, feedback, agreement record and beta account/household data within one calendar month after your participation ends. This applies whether you complete the beta, leave early or do not take up a place. For applicants who never start, the period begins when the beta programme ends or they withdraw, whichever happens first. Testing end dates will be communicated before testing starts. Only customers who choose a paid service and continue using it have the information needed for that service retained; beta registration alone never authorises indefinite retention or charging. Payment access must be verified, and this beta does not automatically convert to a subscription. When paid access ends, unnecessary beta records are deleted within one calendar month. Download your agreement and anything you need before deletion. Copies already downloaded by you are outside our control. We also remove House Hold-controlled email and exported copies as part of this process; provider backup and delivery-log expiry must be managed separately, and deleted data must not be restored to active use. If a specific law requires particular records to be kept longer, only those records are retained with restricted access for the required period. Marketing permission is separate from beta administration. Privacy concerns may also be raised with South Africa's Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za. 8. Electronic acceptance By entering your full name and selecting the acceptance checkbox through your verified account, you intend to sign this agreement electronically for yourself. House Hold records your account, verified email, household, full name, agreement version, exact text, text fingerprint and server signing time. You can download that record as a PDF. This is an electronic acceptance record, not an accredited advanced electronic signature or a certificate-signed PDF. A later change to the terms requires a new acceptance.
